Hello everyone, I'm back!

I've been inspired to write lately, especially since quite a lot of people (mostly young girls) has started to send me messages and asked for guidance regarding the modeling industry. So I thought that I should start writing about it and share my thoughts and knowledge from now on.

Something I haven't mentioned before is how HARD it actually is to work as a model. I think so many are just imagining the fun parts like the shoots, shows, clothes etc. but that only happens IF you get a job. Or if you're just doing a shoot for fun (as a hobby), then it's different. When I say "work as a model", it means you're doing just that (at least pursuing it). You have a manager and agencies to work with, you go to castings/auditions, workout regularly and keep updating your portfolio. Plus, spend money on looking your best (skin treatments is something I do every month for example) and on trips to castings, meetings and work locations. You're investing in yourself in order to become better and more successful.

And this might sound harsh to some, but you can't be a model just because you're pretty. Agencies and clients are not just looking for "pretty". You need to have a great personality and the drive to succeed. And, some luck.

The only one you can count on in this industry, is yourself. Only YOU can keep your body in shape, stay healthy, show up to castings and keep yourself motivated through all the hard times. No one can do that for you. And every model struggles sometimes, even the most famous ones has been struggling at some point during their career. Also, you never really know how many jobs you will get every month or how much you will get payed and that's why it's such a hard job. The uncertainty of it all is what makes it so stressful. And not just for models, but for everyone in the entertainment business. Except for that you might have to do things you don't really want to (I never have though) and deal with demanding and controlling people.

This is all part of the job which isn't all fun and easy. I've had quite a lot of ups and downs since I decided to just focus on modeling but I've kept going. Especially because people really treat me as a supermodel (even though I know I'm not there yet). But more importantly because I have the best support-team (my husband and my family) and that's why I can keep going. I want to make it for them, and for my future kids. ♥

If you guys have any questions about the modeling industry, write a comment or send me a message on Instagram @isadoraekenberg and I will try to answer as thoroughly as possible.
