IT TAKES MORE THAN BEAUTY TO BE A PROFESSIONAL MODEL / FOR ASPIRING MODELS AND INSTAGRAM "MODELS"

Aspiring models might assume that they only need an attractive face and well-proportioned figure to be successful as a model. While modeling can be a glamorous career, becoming a professional model requires dedication and planning. Modeling should be treated as a career choice, but the process of becoming a model can be just as rewarding as it is challenging (believe me, I know).
Modeling can be daunting, most especially for new models. It goes way beyond ‘I have the look’, ‘I have the walk’, ‘I have the drive’. It takes more than beauty to be a professional model, it’s about consciously doing the right thing every day, that would help move your career in the right direction and hopefully land you those modeling gigs. You need all the exposure you can get to move up the ladder in the modeling industry. If you want to work as a freelance model, keep in mind that it will mean that you are in charge of your own booking, development and negotiation.
I'm working with both model & talent agencies, mostly in Tokyo at the moment (since I live here) but internationally as well. If you're not able to sign with agencies, you can always try to connect with brands on your own and see if they need a model. But remember, if you're a new model and want to be professional, you're gonna need a portfolio and a comp-card to show the clients. If you don't know how to create it, I recommend you to google and check portfolios of other models.
And I just want to say something about people who call themselves models but actually isn't. This might be harsh but you're NOT a model if you've never worked with it professionally. If you don't get payed, you're NOT a model. If you've only done a few gigs, you're NOT a model. I honestly get triggered by people online who says they are when they have no idea what the real modeling life is like. It's honestly disrespectful to us who actually work in the entertainment industry.. And even though I'm not as active right now since I recently moved and I'm working with my other businesses as well, I'm still modeling and going on auditions etc. Right now I'm also working on my new look which means I have to update my whole portfolio which takes some time. So yeah, if you don't know about these stuff and isn't signed to an agency or have a manager, please stop telling people that you are a model. Call yourself an aspiring model instead, that's totally fine!
